Ex- President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa.
The Ex- President arrived for the meeting, which held behind closed doors, at about 4pm.
It is not clear what the purpose of the meeting was as he did not speak with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting as is customary with most visitors to the villa. The Presidency also did not disclose the agenda of the meeting.
However, speculations are rife that it is not unconnected with preparations towards the 2023 Presidential elections as the ex- President is seen as a possible candidate having served only one term as President before his defeat at the 2015 polls.
There have been reports, though unconfirmed, that some forces within the ruling APC are well disposed to a return to the Presidency, since he has only one term outstanding thereby positioning the North to return to power after just 4 years.
