2023: I Will Provide All-Round Security For Nigerians – Peter Obi

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has assured Citizens that his government will ensure security in all ramifications, if he emerges winner of the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

In his acceptance Speech, at the Labour Party’s convention venue, Orchid Hotels, GRA, Asaba, Obi who emerged as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party on Monday, hinted on some challenges bedeviling the country which his administration would deal with.

In his words: “Our governance mission will be twin-tracked. Secure Nigeria in every ramification: national security, human security, food security and tackling insecurity created by unemployment.

“We will also seek to unite our nation by pulling our people out of poverty, and creating a new sense of nationalism and patriotism.

“Nigeria shall rise again: and her people will be proud to claim ownership of her patrimony. Doing so is in our collective national interest.”

The former Anambra State Governor, who recently resigned his membership of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, urged his supporters to ensure they get their Permanent Voters Card, PVCs, ahead of the elections.

Earlier at the convention, Professor Pat Utomi, a renowned professor of political economy, had stepped down and endorsed Obi on Monday at the venue of the party’s presidential primaries in Delta.

Utomi announced that Obi is a younger aspirant with the capacity to effect the needed change in the Nigerian system.

Meanwhile, another aspirant, 45-year-old Joseph Faduri also stepped down for the former governor.

Journalists however learnt that Utomi was instrumental in Obi joining the Labour Party from the PDP.
 
“Prof Utomi brought Peter Obi to Labour Party in the first place and he has now endorsed him,” a source had told newsmen on Monday.
