President Tinubu Appoints New CEOs for NCC, NIGCOMSAT, NIPOST

…Retains NITDA’s Kashifu Abdullahi, NDPC’s Olatunji

President Bola Tinubu has removed the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Garba Danbatta from office and replaced him with Aminu Maida.


Professor Danbatta was appointed as Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari and had served his first full term and was rounding off the third year of his second term when the announcement of his removal was made Wednesday. No reason was given for his removal.


The President also appointed new Chief Executive Officers for Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) and Nigeria Communications Satellite Limied(NIGCOMSAT) in the persons of Tola Odeyemi and Nkechi Egerton – Idehen respectively.


In the meantime, the Director- General/ CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and Vincent Olatunji of National Data Protection Commission are retained in their positions.

President Bola Tinubu’s also approved the appointment of Idris Alubankudi as Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy.

All the appointments take immediate effect.
