Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim on behalf of the family of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris (late),wish to express our profound gratitude to everyone who stood by our family from the announcement of our father’s passing through the funeral rites and the final burial.
Our deepest appreciation to His Excellency,The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his moral support and condolences to the family; His Excellency, former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; our father’s former colleagues and fellow governors; members of the Senate and House of Representatives; and all national leaders and dignitaries who mourned with us and supported the family in our saddest moments.
We are particularly grateful to His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his leadership, support and presence throughout the funeral arrangements. We also appreciate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State; His Excellency, Captain Idris Wada, former Governor of Kogi State; His Excellency, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, Deputy Governor of Kogi State; members of the Kogi State Executive Council; and other government officials who honoured our father.
Our appreciation also goes to His Royal Majesty, Attah Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, Attah Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Traditional Council, for his fatherly role throughout the funeral process. We equally appreciate His Royal Highness, Chief Boniface Musa, Ojogba of Ife and Chairman, Omala Local Government Traditional Council, for his fatherly support.
We also specially thank and appreciate our mother and the devoted wife of our late father, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Idris, for her immense contributions, unwavering support and steadfast companionship throughout their life together, particularly during his final years. May Almighty Allah reward her abundantly.
We deeply appreciate the good people of the Igala Kingdom, Kogi State and Nigerians across the country who stood with our family in mourning, visited us, attended the burial, offered prayers, sent messages of condolence and supported us in various ways. We are equally grateful to the Ibro political family, traditional and religious leaders, members of the Idris family, friends, associates and colleagues who remained steadfast in their support throughout the period.
To everyone whotravelled from far and near and contributed to giving our father a befitting final farewell, we remain deeply grateful.
Your presence, prayers, kind words and support brought comfort and strength to our family at a difficult time. We may not be able to acknowledge everyone individually, but please be assured that we deeply appreciate you and will always remember your kindness.
May Almighty Allah bless you all, reward your generosity and grant our beloved father eternal rest.
