Ministry Of Budget And National Planning Marks Civil Service Day.

The National Planning Arm of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, joined the Federation’s Head of Civil Service, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan to celebrate its outstanding staff, in commemoration of the annual Civil Service Week.

In line with the public service rules, the Ministry marked the event, following directives from the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, at the Budget Building in Abuja, today.

The Director, Administration, Omotayo Adeyemi who gave a brief background on African Civil Service Day Celebration, explained that the week is used to acknowledge performing staff and to create conducive environment for civil servants.

In his presentation, the representative of the Head of Service of the Federation, stated that there are several lined up activities to mark the civil service week. He urged Directors, Permanent Secretary and other top management staff to participate actively.

He listed some of the activities to include; Civil Service Staff welfare scheme, the ground breaking of staff housing scheme, Sports activities, among others.

On his part, the guest lecturer, J.Bishung said that performance management system is the approach to rate staff strength, maintaining that staff ought to be well trained and adequately enumerated.

Bishung who gave a brief talk on performance management system, implementation, discussed the importance of skills acquisition and staff training, to help in advancing and enhancing work system in government organizations.

The information Officer. Mrs. Udoh introduced the awardees with their citations, as presentation of awards was done afterwards.

Top 3 staffs bagged prizes such as; KVA Generator, Deep Freezer, and Four Burner Cooker, in first, second and third place respectively.

In response, the participants/awardees thanked the management for the honour done to them and pledged to perform their duties more effectively.
