Twitter Ban Over Soon

The Federal Government’s ban on the use of Twitter may be lifted any moment soon.
This hint was dropped by the Federal Government on Wednesday through the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed adding that discussions had reached an advanced stage with many areas of differences sorted out.

It will be recalled that on June 5, 2021, the FG officially banned Twitter indefinitely, for deleting tweets made by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), warning the Indigenous People of Biafra that they “will be treated in the language they understand”.

The Government did not take kindly to this development which it viewed as disrespectful of the President.

However, on Wednesday after the FEC meeting at the State House, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lal Mohammed, while fielding questions from the press said that much progress has been made as the social media network had accepted most of the government’s demands.

He said the areas still pending such as Twitter setting up an office and having a Twitter staff of management cadre that will serve as the country representative, are still being discussed.
