Pantami Unveils Books On Digital Economy, Cyber Security

The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has publicly unveiled two of his recent books at the Annual Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum on Emerging Technologies, coordinated by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

As contained in a document signed by the Public Affairs Director, Nigerian Communications Commission, Reuben Muoka, the Forum took place on Thursday, July 14 at Sheraton Hotel, Maryland, Lagos.

In one of the books titled “Datafication of Society to Foster an Internet Economy”, the Honourable Minister emphasized how data generation, processing and use, play critical roles in determining success in the digital economy.

Similarly, the second book titled “Cybersecurity Initiatives for Securing a Country”, discusses the importance of cyber security in protecting data and infrastructure to secure the digital economy of countries.

Emerging technologies are playing a vital role in the development of digital economies around the globe. Pantami’s books therefore highlights key aspects of emerging technologies which are datafication and cybersecurity.

The foreword of both books were written by the President of International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), Professor Mike Hinchey and the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Mr. Houlin Zhao respectively.

Both Mr. Zhao and Prof Hinchey, who are renowned global ICT personalities, served as special guests at the public presentation.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor Mike Hinchey at the event. Other speakers include Dr. Soglo of Intel, United States of America (USA), Levin Born McCall of Regent Square Group, USA, Engr Richard Ogbuji, Chrema Technologies, Nigeria amongst other notable speakers.
