New Permanent Secretary Meets Directors, Heads of Units, Receives Comprehensive Briefing

 

The newly posted Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture,Tourism and Creative Economy, Mr Abdulkarim Ozi Ibrahim today received a comprehensive departmental briefing from Directors and Heads of Units at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, as part of the official onboarding and transition process.

The Permanent Secretary in his remarks, noted that the briefing will provide a clear overview of the Departments and Unit’s mandates and their core functions, ongoing programmes and projects, key achievements and challenges, budget performance and resource gaps recommendations for improved service delivery.

He stressed the need for synergy in delivering on the Ministry’s mandate in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that ” the exercise is essential for me to gain a clear understanding of where we are, so that together we can chart a realistic and result-oriented path forward”.

He emphasized on the guiding principles of Civil Service, transparency, accountability, efficiency and the rule of law, adding that, “our actions must consistently reflect these principles, in line with the Public Service Rules and other extant regulations governing our conduct and operations”.

The Permanent Secretary reiterated on teamwork, commitment and professionalism, which he said will pave way for result-oriented service delivery.

Ibrahim also assured staff of his inclusive leadership and an open-door policy which he said will enhance efficiency, responsiveness, innovation and continuous improvement, thereby strengthening the Ministry’s performance.

Earlier, the Director Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Dr Zainab C. Pisaghi during her opening address said that, the briefing will provide detailed updates on key initiatives on their respective mandate, Stakeholder collaborations, key achievements, challenges and the way forward.

According to her, the briefing will set roadmaps for cultural potentials that will position the country as a leading destination for tourism and creative enterprise.
