‎FG, Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation Collaborate to Empower Public Planners ‎

‎The Federal Government and the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation have launched a capacity building programme to strengthen public planning and improve service delivery across Nigeria. The initiative is designed for mid-level staff in Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) departments of federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

‎The programme, developed in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and the Central Result Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), seeks to close gaps in planning and address deep-rooted institutional weaknesses that have hampered effective service delivery.

‎According to the organisers, stronger government planning directly impacts the quality of life for Nigerians, from stocked health centres and functioning schools to safer communities and reliable infrastructure. The training will equip PRS officers with the tools, insights, and confidence required to drive transformational change within their MDAs.

‎Executive Vice Chair of the Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, underscored the significance of the initiative. “We believe in a Nigeria where every citizen can feel the impact of good governance, where children receive quality education, mothers have access to safe healthcare, and communities benefit from thoughtful planning and delivery. That future starts with strong public sector leaders who are equipped to plan, track and deliver results. This training is about empowering those leaders,” she said.

‎Participants will receive training in strategic planning, research, data analysis, and monitoring and evaluation, with a strong focus on leveraging digital tools for smarter planning. The programme also aims to foster a results-driven mindset, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and data-based decision-making to achieve measurable outcomes.

‎The collaboration builds on the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation’s track record of supporting public sector reform. Over the years, the Foundation has carried out needs assessments in MDAs and offered specialised training in policy writing, communications, project management, digital skills, and monitoring and evaluation to strengthen institutional performance.

‎Founded by Aigboje and Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, the Foundation is dedicated to transforming public service delivery and improving access to healthcare across Africa. It also supports organisations such as ABC Health, the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), and the Nigerian Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF).
