Rivers Police Exhume Body of Kidnap Victim in Rivers

The Police in Rivers State have exhumed the decomposing body of a 56-year-old Christian cleric, Friday Olakada, who was kidnapped and killed by a four-man gang in Lorre community, Khana Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects reportedly pretended to want to hire Olakada’s car at Eleme junction near Port Harcourt to pick some property in Lorre community, but kept him in captivity for 10 days, killed him afterwards, after collecting a ransom of N500,000 from his family.

The State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, who led a team to exhume the victim’s corpse in Lorre on Friday evening, said that the cleric was the General Overseer of ‘God is God Ministry,’ located in Agbonchia, Eleme Local Government Area of the state.

He said that four of the suspects that were arrested had confessed to the crime.
