Andrew Tarker, Abuja Workers in the FCT Administration have commendedthe FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello forall his efforts in improving the welfare and wellbeingof staff of the Administration. The workers made their feelings known at the 2023 1stquarter meeting between the management of the FCTAand the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC). Speaking on behalf of the workers, Chairman, JUAC,Comrade Korede Matilukuro described Malam Bello’sappointment as FCT Minister as one of the best thingsto have happened to staff and the Administration as awhole. He commended the Minister for the timeliness andsincerity with which he approached and handled allissues relating to staff welfare and the unions. Matilukuro especially commended the Minister forstaff promotions which were implemented when and asdue, prompt payment of all salaries and allowancesincluding arrears where applicable, consideration ofLocum staff for formal recruitment, provision of busesfor the unions as well as the recent release of grains forjunior staff. He also thanked the Minister once again for theallocation of a recreational and sports garden to theUnion and expressed hope that the Minister would findtime after retirement from public service to visit withstaff at the garden. Members of the union in the course of the meetingaccorded the Minister several standing ovations andsolidarity songs. Earlier in his opening remarks, the Minister hadcommended staff of the FCTA for their dedication andcommitment to duty which has improved servicedelivery in the FCT. He said improved staff performance was alsoacknowledged by SERVICOM with a letter ofcommendation to the Administration for excellence inservice delivery. He also disclosed plans for the inauguration of thevarious Boards of the FCTA over the coming week....
