Daniel James Joins Leeds United From Manchester United

Daniel James has joined Leeds United from Manchester United on deadline day. A price if 25 million pounds was paid for the Welsh winger. This move was confirmed by Manchester United in an official statement released on the 31st of August, 2021.

James, renowned for his searing pace and boundless energy, joins a team perfectly suited to his talents. Leeds are renowned for their speed and pressing games engineered by head coach Marcelo Bielsa who has always been a keen admirer of James.

Leeds had previously come close to signing him in January 2019 but the deal fell through at the last minute, paving the way for him to join Manchester United six months later. Now they finally have their man and will be hoping he hits the ground running.

Manchester United initially had no intention of offloading James but after the signing of long-term target Jadon Sancho, the re-signing of legend Cristiano Ronaldo as and the presence of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani meant there was no more space for James. The return of Jesse Lingard, rejuvenated from a loan at West Ham pushed the Welshman further down the pecking order.

He now departs the red devils with a record of 9 goals in 74 games. He was a useful squad player for Ole Gunnar Soksjaer’s team now he is aiming to be more for Leeds United.
