APC Condemns Attack on Governor Ortom’s Convoy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the attack on the convoy of the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom which occurred on Saturday while thanking God for his safety and acknowledging the gallantry of his security details.
“We thank God for his safety and praise the dutiful security details for repelling the attack.
The party’s statement signed by Senator John Akpanudoedehe was made available to the press Sunday evening after the leading opposition party PDP had released a statement in which it described the silence of the party and the Presidency following the attack, as evidence of their plot to disintegrate the country using banditry and electoral violence.

“We are confident our security services will do everything to unravel the criminals behind the attack and bring them to book.

In a veiled response to the PDP’ s take earlier in the day the party stated that there is need for all hands to be on deck and to avoid politicising crime.
“The APC reiterates that we must all collaborate to end criminality in all forms. A crime is a crime and should not be politicised in any way.
