Omoruyi Lays BNC Petition Against Momoh Before House Plenary

The member of the House of Representatives representing Egor/ Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency of Edo state, Hon Murphy Omoruyi, Thursday, laid a petition by the Benin National Congress before the house during plenary.

The Congress had in December, 2023 sent a petition to the Benin Monarch;the Oba of Benin, followed by another one earlier this year, addressed to the BRACED commission on the same matter which was copied to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, amongst others.

Hon Omoruyi in his brief address while laying the petition before the House flayed the Prince Abubakar Momoh-led Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for proposing to site over 35% of the projects in the Edo North Senatorial axis where he hails from.

Omoruyi stressed that his own constituency within the Edo South Senatorial zone which house the bulk of the oil deposits in Edo State was ignored while Edo North that does not produce even a drop of oil is being considered for all the Edo projects.

The Honourable Member therefore called for a revisit of the 2024 budget to correct this perceived anomaly.
