Lux Terra Hosts Book Festival to Promote Reading Culture

The Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, a brainchild of Father George Ehusani, held its maiden Book Festival which is aimed at promoting the culture of reading and writing in the Nigerian society on Saturday March 5, 2022, at the Ibeto Hotel in Abuja.

The keynote address was delivered by Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah while Professor Taiwo Abioye undertook the global review of Reverend Father George Ehusani’s literary works.

Some of the titles unveiled by the group includes :The Gospel Challenge: 30 Years of Application of Christian Social Teaching in the Nigerian Context; Nigeria: More Years Eaten by the Locusts and Between Faith and Social Activism.
Others are Conversion to Christ, Growing in Christ, Sunday Homiles (Year A) and Sunday Homiles (Year C).

The event attracted scores of University Professors of various disciplines, including current and former Vice Chancellors of Universities, many retired and serving Court Judges, and a number of Catholic Bishops, Priests and Religious Leaders.

Others in attendance were student representatives from Universities, Secondary Schools, and Primary Schools, as well as hundreds of other invited members of the public.
Highlights of the event includes the presentation or dramatisation by students of the various institutions represented, of selected poems from Rev Fr George Ehusani’s poetry anthologies; the reading of excerpts from one or the other his 22 published works by such celebrated broadcasters and proficient readers as Cyril Stober and Eugenia Abu, as well as Dr. Amina Salihu of the MacArthur Foundation.
