African Public Relations Association, the pan- African Public Relations organisation recently lent its voice in support of the Kenyan people, as the country was engulfed in a massive protests over a proposed finance bill which seems to increase the tax burden on the people.
This was contained in a press release signed by the organisation’s Secretary- General Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan and made available to the media on Wednesday 26th June, 2024.
Whilst expressing solidarity with its Kenyan chapter, the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), the Association charged the nations leadership to “put the people of Kenya first”.
“The Executive Council and Members of APRA condole with all Kenyans in general over the recent crisis that happened in the Republic of Kenya”, the release stated.
“Also, we stand in solidarity with our colleagues in the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).
“We urge the Government of Kenya to put the people of Kenya first and in a show of conversational capacity as already indicated by the Presidency, undertake stakeholder consultations with empathy and an openness to reconciliation.
APRA also used the opportunity to commiserate with the families of those who died as well as wish a speedy recovery to those injured during the protests.
