The Ministry of Interior has announced a decisive step in its digital transformation agenda as it fully adopts electronic communication for all official engagements.
Notice of the shift from manual to digital communication and correspondence was given about a week ago on the 20th November, 2025 via a press release signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Ajani.
This initiative is in line with the Digitalisation Reform Pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2025) and follows the directive of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation mandating all MDAs to transition to electronic communication and records management.
Effective 1st December, 2025, the Ministry will no longer accept manual submission of letters, mails, or any form of physical correspondence. All official documents and requests must be submitted electronically through the Ministry’s approved digital platforms.
The designated channels for electronic communication are:
Email Portal: Interior Correspondence Platform
https://interas.interior.gov.ng
Website Submission: Ministry of Interior Official Website
(Submission accessible via backend after registration)
This transition underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening service delivery, improving transparency, and supporting the Federal Government’s broader drive towards a fully digitalized public service.
The Ministry, therefore, urges all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), organisations, partners, and members of the public to comply fully with this directive to ensure smooth and efficient processing of all communications and requests.
