The ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) has clarified that Barrister Daniel Bwala is not the party’s National Legal Adviser and by that fact its National Legal Adviser has not resigned.
The clarification came on the heels of reports in certain sections of the media which referred to Bwala as the National Legal Adviser in the process of reporting Bwala’s resignation from the party.
Bwala is one of many APC members who believe that the party’s Muslim – Muslim ticket is unacceptable as it disregards the religious plurality of the nation and is insensitive to the aspirations of Christians.
He, on Sunday turned in his resignation following the announcement by the party’s standard bearer Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of former Borno Governor and serving Senator, Kashim Shettima,as his running mate.
To set the records straight, the party’s spokesman, Barrister Felix Morka, stated Monday that the National Legal Adviser of the party is Barrister Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq.
“The report is either borne out of mischief or extreme negligence. We urge the General Public to kindly disregard”, Morka said.
“Barr. Daniel Bwala was not the National Legal Adviser of the Party as erroneously reported.
“Barr. Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq is, and remains, the National Legal Adviser of APC.
