Cristiano Ronaldo is in line for a stunning return to Manchester United. Manchester City have pulled out of a deal and the red devils have submitted an offer to Juventus per Fabrizio Romano. Multiple sources have also stated that Ronaldo is keen on a return to the club where he first made a name for himself and won his first world player of the year.
On Thursday, it became apparent that Ronaldo would not continue at Juventus and their head coach Massimiliano Allegri Admitted as much. The manager said ” Yesterday, talking to Cristiano, he told me that he has no intention of staying at Juventus”.
Immediately this became apparent, Manchester City were linked to the forward and a deal was said to be very close. This was obviously never going to sit well with the red half of Manchester and United legend Wayne Rooney spoke out on the situation. The move was viewed with annoyance by Manchester United fans with the belief that it would be a betrayal by a player who was considered one of their greatest players ever. On friday afternoon however, Manchester City pulled out of the deal today leaving United in pole position to sign the five time Ballon D’or winner.
This was fueled by Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Soksjaer who in his pre-match interview left the door open for Ronaldo. Soksjaer stated ” We’ve always had good communication. Bruno has been talking to him as well and he knows what we feel about him and if he was ever going to move away from Juventus he knows we are here.”
It seems Ronaldo will rejoin the club he played for between 2003-2009 and for whom he has already attained legendary status.
