Oyebanji Picks Form, Boastfully Predicts Victory for APC in Ekiti Guber Elections

Mr.Abiodun Oyebanji, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State has stated emphatically that his party will win the next governorship elections in the state.
He made the prediction at the APC headquarters while addressing a press conference after he picked his nomination form on Wednesday.
Until Tuesday when he resigned, Oyebanji was the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Governor Kayode Fayemi. His resignation followed an order by the Governor to the effect that government functionaries who were interested in contesting election should resign their appointments.
“I came here this morning to obtain my nomination form to contest for the office of governor of Ekiti State.Up till yesterday, I was the Secretary to the government. In furtherance to the governor’s directive that those who are interested in politics should resign, I resigned yesterday,” Oyebanji said.
“I am grateful to God. God has been gracious to me. I am a product of grace Oyebanji said he had served the State over a long period of time in various capacities, a journey which started with his appointment as Special Assistant.
Asked what his unique selling point is, he said he had garnered valuable experience over the long period of his service to the state and so understands the dynamics, the needs and challenges of the state.
” I have a perfect understanding of the sentiments of the people. I have learnt under the feet of great men. I have seen them take tough decisions. I believe I am well poised and experienced to be next governor, especially to continue the good works of Governor Fayemi.
He identified poverty and insecurity as the most critical challenges in the state which he intends to deal with squarely if he eventually becomes the governor.
On the issue of various intra party crises and Tinubu/ Fayemi factionalisation which have reportedly rocked the party in the state, Oyebanji said there is no faction within the state chapter of the party.
“I am not aware of any faction in the party. There are various views of how things should go but the APC is one family and as long as the characters you talked about remain in the APC, we are one family and even in families there are always differences. It is not a big deal at all”.
On the chances of the party in the upcoming elections, he said ” We are going to ride on the good works of Gov Fayemi to beat the opposition and we will beat them hands down.
