Buhari Appoints Dikko Pioneer Coordinator of Small Arms Control Agency


Retired Major General A.M Dikko has been appointed as the pioneer coordinator of the National Agency for Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons.
The establishment of the Centre which replaces the defunct Presidential Committee on Small Arms and Light Weapons was approved by President Buhari on Monday, according to a Presidency statement.
The Centre will operate from the office of the National Security Adviser and is part of government’s rejig of the security architecture in order to tackle emerging threats and limit to the barest minimum, the flow of small arms and light weapons.
Dikko has held various important military positions including Military Adviser UN office for West Africa as well as Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE.
