2023: PDP Lawmakers Formally Receive Oyeleke From APC

A member of Oyo State House of Assembly who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke has been officially received by the PDP members in the Assembly.

Oyeleke was presented with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP flag at the brief ceremony held at the House of Assembly.

In his defection letter which was was read by the Clerk of the House of Assembly, Oludara Awe, to the House of Assembly, Oyeleke said he left his former political party, APC because of some unresolvable internal wranglings.

The letter read in part; “APC in Oyo State has failed to uphold the tenets of democracy especially as it relates to justice and equity in its dealings with party faithful. I can’t continue to be in a party that does not value my interest and that of my supporters.

“The PDP has shown great potential in Oyo State and it remains the party to beat at all levels in 2023.”

Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin while welcoming the lawmaker to PDP, applauded his resolve to join the party in the state.

Oyeleke is currently representing Ogo-oluwa/Surulere, and was elected in 2019 to represent the constituency on the platform of APC.
