PDP Debunks Rumour Of Tambuwal’s Resignation

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the rumour making rounds that Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal has resigned his position as the chairman, PDP Governors Forum.

In a statement signed by the Director General, PDP Governors Forum, Hon CID Maduabum, LL.M, the Forum maintained that Tambuwal has not resigned, contrary to some media reports.

The Forum added that consultations are ongoing in a bid to resolve all contending issues concerning the Party.

the statement reads; “This is to inform the general public and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party , that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) , Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR has not resigned as Chairman of the Forum contrary to some media reports.

“Members of the PDP Governors Forum See working behind the scenes to resolve all contending issues concerning the Party. To this end a meeting of the Forum will soon be convened.”.

Also, responding to question from journalists after the party’s 97 National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Olonunagba, refuted the report, tagging it as fake.

Olonunagba said he is in the best position to confirm the development if true, but as at the time he was addressing the press, there was no such thing.

In his Words; “It is not true as at this time, I have no information that he has resigned and if he has, I will be in the best position to know.

“Right now, there are procedure for resignation.When we said the BoT chairman resign, it was communicated and we said it in this communique, so if he has resigned, of course it will be part of here (the communique).

“So those are speculations. Wait until he resigns then we will let you know.” He maintained
