Barrister Esther Uzoma is Dead.

Outspoken and popular legal practitioner cum human rights activist, Barrister Esther Uzoma is dead. She was the Convener of the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room (Situation Room).
According to the Situation Room statement on her death signed by her co- conveners Asmau Joda and Celestine Odo, the deceased died on Wednesday 6th Jan 2021 following a surgery she had at the National Hospital Abuja.
She was well known for her advocacy especially on radio and television. Her intervention through her contributions at the Nigeria Situation room during the 2019 general elections reiain laudable and indelible.
In a tribute to her, fellow human rights activist Barrister Frank Tietie stated via WhatsApp, “Esther Uzoma, you stood for truth and justice. You spoke for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. May the memory of you remain blessed in out hearts. Adieu Esther.”
Another friend of hers Princess Halima Jubril remarked on her Facebook page upon hearing about her death, “You served humanity with your blood, brain, strength, love, personal wealth. You indeed gave all yours. The Law, rest on dear. Adieu.”
“The Situation Room in their announcement said of her: Esther was very energetic and a committed human rights and gender activist and has been in the forefront of driving Nigeria’s democratic reforms.
“She will be sorely missed by all who came in contact with her”, the statement added.
It disclosed that her burial arrangements will be announced by her family.
